    Hi Dya

I guess we all at times have years like yours, and with friends or so called friends like those I no doubt bet you could do better in finding others or better loyal friends you already have... I tend to ditch the waste.

This year for me has been OK, things starting to go right ( maybe not now as I cursed my good fortune in saying that ), still feel damm well tired all the time, but I can honestly say I love my job, its interesting and giving a bit back to the community at large, its stressful at times, but not the bad stress I endured in the past especially in last job.

Christmas is coming at this friday I out with my collegues in another Medical Eye Dept at a casino so... eyes down for a full house.... damm thats Bingo!!! ok well *let it all ride on Red* :)

    You'll have a good 2008 :)

Sorry to hear you are going through the ringer Dyamond. But look on the bright side...things CAN only get better and will. Even when something seems terrible to us, good can come out of it. The friends you lost - well, they don't sound to be so supportive as friends should be - so maybe they did you a favor rather than dragging you down to their level with them. And you job?...If you did lose it maybe it is freeing you up for that opportunity that is just round the corner that will bring you a much better career path where you are greatly respected and admired for all you do :) Keep your chin up!

My year? Fun fun ;) Some of you know my trials and tribulations have been thick and fast this year with hatemail, blackmail, office smashed into, cousin in airplane crash, death of a grandparent, husband injured in a logging accident, father collapsed, grandbaby on the way requiring immediate surgery when born...but you know what...I have so much to be grateful for too. I have an awesome husband, 7 wonderful children, 5 wonderful grandchildren, we have been financially blessed this year for the first time in our lives, I have a home, I get to go to the UK this month and see my family, and yesterday I found out my conditions were removed by Homeland Securities and I am now a Permanent Resident of the USA :D So maybe not good news for you yanks, but super neat for me ;)

Roll on 2008 - I'm excited to see what is in store and know if a road paved with suffering comes along, I can only embrace it and grow with its lessons :)

I'm sorry to hear it, dy, but I think Lev has hit the nail on the head, here.

Seems the "highly effective people" here all have the same motto: there are no problems, only opportunities.

May be hard to see at times, but there is usually a way to turn lemons into lemonade.

People you once considered friends who let you down can be a real bummer...but Hey, they couldn't have been real friends to begin with, so who needs that type of dead wood anyway!;)

I don't reckon anyone is exempt from a roller coaster ride in life. Personally, it's been a challenging year in every aspect, so I usually take the dips with a Yip! and look ahead to the highs with excited anticipation!:) (Oh, and there is always that old cliche of meeting life's challenges <yawn> yeah, yeahrolleyes...let's move on and see what's around the corner!)

2008...I'm waiting for ya! Bring it on...:D

I think you'll be all right. :) You're still communicating, so you haven't arrived at the depths of depression that sometimes can overtake you. This last summer my brother lost his wife to brain cancer. Trust me, it's a horrible way to go, and with her passing my brother and his daughters were devastated. I lost a very dear friend and pen-pal of many years but I realized that, no matter how bad I think the world is treating me, there is always something worse. So I am thankful for my whole life - aches, pains, injustices, financial rip-offs. All these negatives, pale in comparison to being alive and being aware that I'm alive.
In a true lemons to lemonade vein. While my brother was taking Penny to her radiation treatment he met a woman at the hospital. She recently contacted him to express her condolences and to propose getting together for coffee. Now they're dating and he's been invited to go to California with her to visit with her sister. That seemed to have worked out. Apparently, her sister lives next door to Hugh Hefner. For those who may not know, Hugh Hefner's spouse lives next door to him, in a mirror image mansion of the infamous Playboy Mansion-West. So you see, Dyamond, my brother is now dating Hugh Hefner's sister-in-law. That's what I call Lemons to Sweetened Lemonade.. :D LOL

Well Dymond, Emms, et al. I hope next year is infinitely better than this one was, then.

This year was so-so for me. A bit of the good and not-so-good. But considering '06 was really, really bad, I guess I can't complain.

All the best to y'all!.);)

P.S.:- I clicked on that Pineapple Champion thingy, just out of sheer curiosity. I managed ‘Champion’ on the first round. Which was definitely sheer luck, as I have no idea what I was doing, Lol!....So I am Teh Pineapple Champion, ( Oh yippee!), LoL! :p

Sorry to hear about all the crap you are going through dy :( I just wish that I could help you out :)
When all seems lost and things go pear shaped in life, I discovered that's when you find out who your true friends are and you also discover that inner strength you didn't realise you had. :strong

    Hiya, Dyamond :)

Sorry to hear about all the strife you are struggling with, and I wish I could help. I've been assailed from all sides before, and I know how dark and impossible things can seem when you can't seem to find an ally. Trust me, it WILL get better.

This year has been good to me, except for the loss of a co-worker a few months ago. I've been blessed with a granddaughter, which is the highlight of my year. I now have two granddaughters, one adopted and one by my eldest son.

It sucks when friends turn on you, and I can relate to that. I'm glad you are not being stalked anymore - that's some creepy stuff, there. You seem like a tough gal, so I have no doubt you will bash your way through these trials into better times beyond. Always remember you have back-up here at MG . . . maybe we can just mostly help and defend you with words, but words have power after all.

    Hang in there, kiddo!

I was on yahoo news the other day watching a short video about a woman who was 700 lbs. She had no desire to lose weight and all she did was eat because she was depressed that noone wanted to have anything to do with her and it was because of her weight. She started going online and found a site where she started talking to people who were nice, understanding, and didn’t judge her because of her size. Over a course of time (I don’t remember how long) she lost about 530 lbs! when they showed her before picture and then when she came on stage - she looked amazing!! She attributed it to the friendly, supportive people she met online. It just really goes to show that words do have power, unknowingly or knowingly you can make or break someone with a just a few words. With all that said I want to thank everyone for their support and kind words, I really appreciate it. :)

Now an update: I got a call back already for one of the jobs I applied too..yess! My friend the one who backstabbed me is seemingly trying to be my friend again, well friends like we were before and Im willing to work things out, after 5 ½ years of friendship Im not gonna give that up so easily. My other problem is leaving sooner then I thought, yay! (Im not real fond of the circumstances under which he’s leaving but still glad none the less.. is that mean to be glad? I hope not)

Things are starting to look nice again on my side of the planet, you just gotta have faith and persevere. :)

    Stalkers are definitely frightening.
I hear a lot of them like to use these social networks like MySpace and Facebook to send harassing messages. ;)

    heheheheh...

'grats on the callback, dy! Now to rock 'em in the interview, eh?

Glad to hear things are looking better dy. Seems, in life, what comes down must go up. At least you keep hope that it does. Good luck with your interview!:)

For the most part the year 2007 has been good to me. We are all healthy here.

We lost our cat to old age, but have gained a good puppy.

I turned 40:cry, which pretty much sucked, but as I said, I'm healthy and happy with my life so I can't complain much about that.

I think the worst thing for me has been watching people's marriages, who I know, fall apart. I don't know what it is about my age group, but it seems this is the time for people to decide that they need a younger person, they aren't happy, they are gay, etc. Anyway... looking forward to 2008.

True that. Fixing a broken P.C. or O.S. is one thing - but to mend a broken heart/sprit is infinitely more important, i.m.h.o. - Something which is frequently overlooked and under-rated. That is why I think areas like the Lounge Forum at M.G.'s are invaluable. i.m.o. I know the good folks here, over the years have helped me through some rough and desolate times.

The good thing is, that you know you don't have to do it alone. And that, even though everyone has their own unique story to tell, (or not tell, in some cases), that suffering is something we all share at certain points in our lives.

Glad circumstances are starting to take an upswing again for you, Dy! :)
