My Log File

Please read the announcement and sticky threads. HJT logs should only be posted when requested and then they must be attachments to your message.

For questions or problems related to gaming, ask them in the Game Forum not here.

One item we recommend removing due to the fact that it can install a load of bad stuff on your PC is Messenger Plus 3.

If you are having malware problems, please run the steps below. We only look at HijackThis logs to fix malware problems and only after standard cleaning procedures have all been run. None of the three programs you listed in your message are malware.

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.


After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem, boot into normal mode and make sure you follow these directions:


- Download HijackThis 1.99.1

- Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

- Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

- Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

- Run HijackThis and save your log file.

- Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

 

You need to run ALL of what I posted if you have malware problems and want a HijackThis log to be looked at.

Yes Messenger Plus 3 is a plugin for MSN Messenger. They are not related to Microsoft and they are widely know to install malware on many thousands of PCs. They sneak it by most users in the license agreement which many people never read. They can even install a nasty LOP infection. Supposedly you can choose not to install the 3rd party software and they do not install all the baddies. However, from most educated users perspective (mine too) sneaky software like this should not be trusted. We removed it from being a download on MG's long ago. As have many other sites. And we always recommend uninstalling it because of these practices. Just search the net for Messenger Plus 3 and you will see what I mean.
