Hello, Thanks so much for your help. I was able to go through the "READ AND RUN ME FIRST" and for a minute there my computer was all right.
I howver noticed that I cannot go to several website example yahoo.mail and facebook and even when I searched for this site, It took over 6 tries to get to this page. Mt clock doesnt read "VIRUS ALERT!!!" anymore - but it switches to military time around 5am.
    Attached are my logs. Thanks

It appears as though the scans have taken care of most of it.

    Let's just do this:

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following:

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it(Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program does not require an installation. The executable actually runs the program.

NOTE: This program is for Windows XP and Windows 2000 only. ATF Cleaner will remove all files from the items that are checked so if you have some cookies you'd like to save. Please move them to a different directory first.

    * Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
    * Under Main choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.

    If you use Firefox browser

    * Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.
o NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

    If you use Opera browser

    * Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
    * Click the Empty Selected button.
o NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main ATF Cleaner menu to close the program.

Now tell me what issues you are still having. (We will reset your clock when we do the final cleanup).

    Hi TimW,
Thanks so much for your help. I am able to use my toolbar now to go to different sites.
What should I do to reset my clock?
Also, I have turned on my antivirus software. I have one question though, all the programs that I downloaded according to the "READ ME FIRST" forum are still on my computer - should I remove them?
    Thanks

I keep both SAS and MalwareBytes as backup programs when I think something may be going on. When we do the final cleanup..which I will give you now, the removal of ComboFix should restore your clock...but if not, go to the control panel / regional and language / Time and reset to the format you prefer.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. If we used ComboFix then UNINSTALL COMBOFIX (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
    2. Click START then RUN
    * Now type "%userprofile%\Desktop\cf" /u in the runbox and click OK.
    * Note: The space between the cf and the /U, it must be there.
    3. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    4. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    5. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
    * Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
    * Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    6. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

    Hi TimW,
I uninstalled CF.exe, deleted the MGTools files and folders like you said and Disbaled/Enabled system restore. My clock did not change so I went through the control panel. It is showing 17:23 AM - any option I click doesn't change it to 5:23 AM - so I tried again and it changed to 5:23 PM so I went to the control panel Date and Time and changed it to AM. It is showing AM on my taskbar however I am having the same issue I had before where I was unable to type in a website address like yahoo mail or facebook or even this website to visit the site directly. Thanks

What happened between yesterday and today? You said you could use the toolbar to get to sites...and now you can't?

What toolbars do you have? Have you cleaned out your temp internet files? What exactly is happening.

    Hi,
Well, as soon as I did the disable/enable, i went in to change my clock. I think it has something to do with the clock cos when I changed it, I couldnt use my toolbar again.

    This is strange....questions:

Do you mean a "toolbar" or the address bar in the browser? Does it happen in all browsers (IE/ Firefox, etc)?

Did you go to control panel / regional and Language / customize / time and change the format just for the time?

Oops I mean address bar - and yes it happens with IE and Firefox. I did go to control panel/ regional and customize for time only. When I changed it it was till coming up 17:34 for 5:34 but when I changed to the format I have now which is
hh:mm:ss, it changed to 5:34 and but it said PM - so I went to the control panel under time and switched it to AM.
That is all I did and when I tried to come on here and respond and say thanks - i realized that when I typed in the URL in the address bar - nothing happened. I went to google and searched "majorgeeks" and the only link that would let me come on here is the links to the forums. Thanks

Aaarrgghh ....OK, please re-run SAS and MWB and redownload the MGTools and run it.

Attach those logs and let's see if we can find what is causing this.

    TimW,
Its me again. Attached are the logs. I got the last error message when I was running MGTools "The application failed to initialize properly etc" - so I was directed to a windows/microsoft site to run a validation on my software - everything worked except it kep saying my clock was not set to the correct time and it is - so I am very convinced that this whole thing has affected my clock or there is a virus hiding in there somewhere (if there is any such thing).
Please ket me know what you find - I really do appreciate your help. Thank you

    Some how you got re-infected.

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * Do not change any check box options!!
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:

    * Now click the Execute button.
    * Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    * Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    * Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

Also delete all files in the below folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).
    C:\WINDOWS\Temp
    C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Temp

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger.

    Hello:
I am getting the error when I click on MGtools in the c drive.
Also do I have to download avenger.exe?
    Thanks

What error are you getting with MGTools?

You don't have to download avenger...you can manually delete the files. If you can't then yes you should.

    Your logs look clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

1 If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop & renamed it like we requested.)

    * Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
    * "%userprofile%\Desktop\cf" /u
o Notes: The space between the cf" and the /u, it must be there.
o This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    * Delete the C:\cf folder from combofix.
2 *If we used SmitFraudFix, you can delete all files and folders related to it now including the c:\rapport.txt log.
3 *If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    4. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    5. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    6. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
    * Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
    * Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
