my monitor is displaying my IE sideways what??????????

I have a windows 98 computer set out in the kitchen for my children to use, my son went to install a game,messiah, and ever since that our page is sideways, am I making any sense? when we first start our computer everything displays correctly, even the windows 98 logo page but once the explorer page comes up it is displaying sideways, and I mean everything, it is really hard to go online when you have to turn your head sideways to view the page LOL can anyone help??????? I am using my computer to write this. thank you.

I got a chuckle from your post. I'm just guessing here. You might check your startup to see if that Messiah game or any other unwanted software isn't running. Also look into your processes to see the same isn't happening there. You may even want to look at the Malware forum here to check that it isn't some kind of bug that wandered in.

thanks I will try that, I should have mentioned in my post the in safe mode everything looks fine, its just the normal startup that I am having problems with.

ok i got my page to load correctly now I cant get my monitor to display in 256 colors, everytime I go to restart my computer it just goes back to the 16 bit, what the heck is going on, I have a envision monitor, any suggestions?

 

In the display (control panel) there is a troubleshooter under settings. Have you tried that? 'Course I never have any luck with the Windows troubleshooter but you could try!
