My Mostly Occured Game Poblem....

hey I have a problem with a game...

Could anyone tell me..
what could cause a game to do this thing:
* I double- click on my game icon.. to start the game... then comes the black screen... and then wham!.. I'm back on my desktop and nothing happens......

What could Cause This????

Well i have a game named *Dungeon Lords*
I have that problem with that game.... I've had it before with other games...
I could play it before I made Format to my hard drive...
Now that i have re-installed everything.... I can't play...

 

Make sure all your drivers are up to date. Have you installed Direct X 9.0c? You may need to try reinstalling the game.

 

This is usually a hardware issue (i.e. inefficient GPU) but since you could play the games before the format sleepygamer's case sounds more likeable.

 

i have all up to date and installed directX 9.0c

 

A long shot but Check your Firewall, I had a similar issue sometime ago and it turned out my firewall wasnt letting the game launch.

 

Can you post your system's hardware and some of the software (programmes you think could affect the RAM, video card)?

 

1) I have no firewall... yet...

2) Processor 2Ghz
768MB RAM
128MB ATI RADEON 9250
erm.. what else do you want to know???

I'd really like to play this game...

 

sorry for re-posting, but i have managed to bypass the problem by installing all that's needed and then uninstalling and re-installing the game...

i did install the game before i had any directx nor graphics drivers installed...

well... so you would know if you make same mistake..

well ok then... thanks for everyone that supported (not those who did say somethin but only pointless stuf like... oh you could have this problem, but i gusee you don't cause you dont have something.... I just hate that kind of posts... cause theire pointless.. they don't give you anything.. mostly..)

 

At the risk of posting a pointless post I have played Dungeon Lords and well what can I say. It sucks. Here is a quote form their official forum.

I don't know which guys play MMORPGs here but most players are not really kind or cooperative so the admins of their forums have to be that strict.

Most people usually can't play Dungeon Lords because they don't notice the Penality thing!!! There's a Penality of things so you can't wear everything every time.... penality have lot's of negative effects and makes you negative damage, speed and so on...

(whatdid everybody think then.. why should there be any skills then?? )

Hey dude, relax. I didn't say all MMORPG players are rude but it just happens the ones I met online were. Not all of us like this kind of games. That's why so many genres exist, to suit every taste.
