My new Black Lotus :)

I had to share this wonderful thing with someone, and where better than here on MGs, where people will understand why it's so great?

For my birthday yesterday, The Guy gave me a laptop. An ASUS N61Jq.

It has:

Core i7 CPU, 720QM at 1.60GHz
2x 2GB DDR3-1066
Mobility Radeon HD 5730, with 1GB DDR3 dedicated RAM
16-inch, 1366 x 768 wide-screen LCD
320GB, 7200rpm hard drive

It is sleek, black, sexy, and looks like a combination between Darth Vader, a black sports car, and a polished katana...! It is beautiful. I have named it "Black Lotus".

I will be spending the weekend removing bloatware, updating OS and security apps, running memtest and Prime95, testing for dead pixels on the LCD... and then I will install The Witcher and Dragon Age on it! :drool I have purchased a Microsoft wireless 5000 mouse in matching shiny black, since playing those on a touch pad would be a blasphemy and travesty.

I love my new laptop.

 

I saw that one in the store where I bought the 5000, but I didn't like how it handled. I have tendonitis in the my mouse arm, so I am extremely picky about "the feel" of them. The 5000 felt good in my hand and gave me a good angle in the wrist, and the price was very reasonable so I bought it. The store lets me return it within 14 days even if I've opened and used it, one of the reasons I shop there, so I can try it out thoroughly and see how it works.

 

WOW Mims that is really nice. checked it out At ASUS and you sure have a lot there.I like the fact that the number pad is on the side. My Toshiba is on top.
