my new computer build

Okay!
I've taken tons of time to gather all the required information and I've finally decided to take the plunge. Putting together a brand new machine! Is it WOOOOOOOOOT at this point? Here it is...........Ta Da.....drum roll please.
I never would have undertaken such a project, but I found a slightly used computer carcass at the local goodwill convenience outlet (while I was donating a few pet goldfish that I could no longer keep, cause I sold my tanks to a chemical manufacturer ( what is meth? ) and, gosh darnit, got my creative juices flowing. Knew that garage was there for a special purpose!



I might need some help along the way, so bear with me. Trying to figure out where all them little wires goes is a pain in the ***. But I have a hammer to make them fit. Already glued the heatsink, or whatever it is to something else,........... whatever it is. Use the same hammer to positively attach that there mothers'board to something else, so it won't move or vibrate when I'm leaving the local convenience store with a withdrawl ( pardon me, bank ) Upgraded to a bigger power supply, what the hell, if 12 v's is ok then 13 and 1/2 ought to be a heck of a lot better. Might go to 19.2 if they don't catch (stop) me leaving the Sears tool dept. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to put this here thing together. Think I have all the equipment I need. Only gonna use one of the mouse traps for pesky critters that can somehow find a way inside once the unit is completely sealed. Not room for two, but since they are only sold in packages of two, at least you have a spare for your next overhaul. Not a total loss. Found that on my last build, once everything is installed, a heavy coating of spray texture will seal up everything and make it completely impervious to beer and wine drippings. Not to mention drooling when visiting favorite sites. After all the above is completed a tight wrapping of duct tape (in your favorite color) completes the rebuild.

Well I would like to comment oldandconfusedagain, but Dang you are talking way too technical for me...........and I can't use them thar Mousey Traps for fear that the little critter spinning my Power supply wheel will get caught and my computer will do something called "Crash" even though I don't have any Dang wheels on the thing.............so I don't know how it can "Crash"LOLroflmaoroflmao

no it ain't a harmoniker. Blew on that thing for nigh on 20 minutes and couldn't get a sound out, cept myself a wheezin. Followed second rule of troubleshootin and sucked till my tongue was a scratchin my toes. Got me baffled, but it'll sure come in handy one a these days. I just know it! Like to stay and chat, but gotta go do some welding on the power cord so I can finally get this here Bad Boy fired up an runnin in the mornin. It's been a fascinatin adventure so far. Can't wait to see what the mornin brings. Stay tuned.

Well dang gum it Old&Confused again I went to that there Giggle place and they done tell me its a midgets Pianer, they say there should be some legs on it somewhere's. Maybe thats why all yur "Sucking & Blowing" didn't getta yea no were's.

Make sure when yea weld that "Power Cord" you use that there new FIG welder, them old "Stick Welders" might just fry that ther new Puter

By the way MK has a source for some "Cheetah Dung" says it's the best dang thing to keep them critters away from your new Puter, maybe you can give him a PM what ever the heck that is:wave

Rat traps. Always go with Rat traps - that way you don't have to upgrade down the road . . .

The Camels are Ok, but Marlboro lights are more universally compatable.

 

thanks (or is it thanx?) for all the ideas (or is it input?) Time, I think, to close this thread down before getting carried away. Damn thing didn't work, after spending all that time and going thru a pack of camels. I tell ya, it's not easy being me. At least the bread came out fine, as usual.
