My new rant!!!

Stop Telling me to learn how to type it is really starting to tick me off .Not every body is freaking perfect way is it i am the only one here getting these little messages saying learn to type.

It is annoying and it pissing me off.

Not every body is perfect.Do you realize how many post i see and there not all perfect stop egg it on me.I do my best you can still read it right so what is the problem.My be i never took a typing class.Nor do i care too no body eles i know tells me how to type be cause they don't care.

Stop you can piss people off this way and it is starting to tick me off.I really do not see you telling every body eles to learn to type way is it only me.

 

Get a thick skin.

No, not everyone is perfect but why are you so against using proper spelling and grammar? It's not a difficult thing to learn or do.

 

I will never mention it again. I already mostly skip your posts because it is often difficult to figure out exactly what you're trying to say. Have a nice day!

 

I have no problem understand you my friend. Though I do understand others views on it.
If that's how you are comfortable typing the way you do. Then keep doing it, IMHO.
You could try using "proper" English, if you'd like but, no one is forcing you too.

 

Just post math. It is the universal language, and requires no grammar.

I have also noticed the spelling and punctuation errors, but I never mentioned it.
I realize that you are doing the best that you can.

Whoever told you that you need to learn to "type" is also imperfect and could also be corrected.
It's the spelling and punctuation that's the issue, not typing.

I have been guilty of "correcting" some people occasionally, and afterwards wish I hadn't.
It's kind of a Compulsive thing, which is annoying to me as well as others.

Don't worry about it too much.

I'll admit, I know I sometimes that spell words wrong, especially if it's a word I don't use them in everyday life but I at least try to make my post have some sort of semblance. If you have difficultly with spelling or grammar, that's ok. A lot of people do but like Laura pointed out, you seem to do it purposely and just assume people "know what you mean". Well, some will and some won't and you could be missing out on pertinent information that person has to share with you but they just don't have the time to dissect your post.

Honestly, it's really not that hard to use proper spelling and grammar on the internet when there are spelling/grammar checkers built into most web browsers. :-D

I edit my posts at least 35 times before I am done. Usually to correct grammar. :-D

 

I do too. I have a tendency to leave entire words out of sentences especially if I'm typing really fast. My fingers and brain aren't always on the same level. :-D

 

My latest trend is to type in broke english and used wrong tenses of words.

I am really not all that bad but i am kinda getting tired of serton people here telling me learn to type.And like i said i am not all that bad of a typer just be cause i do not know where to put serton things in serton spots does not mean i am a bad typer.

And yes this does get kinda annoying when it is kinda directed at me.When there are other people that do type bad.

But like i said i do not seem to have this issue on any other forums.And my typing is 70% i would say.I do type over 60+ a min.I am not saying that Every body here is teasing me but there are a couple that are kinda ticking me off a little.Im not going to say who.

Im not trying to rant too much just trying to say back off a little.As long as you can read it then you should not complain about the person's typing skills.Only time you should complain is when you can not read it.And it is pretty obvious people can read my typing.

This is all i am going to say.

Although I post occasional typos (who doesn't?), I also use the spell check function (the check mark with the letters ABC above it at the top right of the message box) before I post. If you've never used it before, it will prompt you to download and install free spell check software.

It keepss yor posts frm looking lik that bilboard the cow caries in the Chk-Fill-A ads. :-D

 

Please tell you did this ^^ facetiously? because if not, this is exactly what people are talking about. At first I was like, serton?? :confused then I said oh, he means certain. It has nothing at all to do with your typing. It's all about SPELLING, GRAMMAR & PUNCTUATION. If you don't care, that's fine but don't get upset if people can't/don't/won't help you because they don't have the time to try and figure out what your talking about.

I can type 65 WPM and make sense, I never took typing lessons or had classes, I taught myself. Don't feel like you just have to type fast because everyone else can. It would be much better for you (and everyone else) if you slowed down, thought about what you wanted to say, typed it out, proof-read it and THEN posted. Then fix any errors before the 5 minute timer runs out like I do. :-D

Well, despite a University education, I am not the world's best speller. Most are just silly typos than anything else, (hey, I majored in Chemistry and Physics, not Literature ). Typing, I basically learned in my old army days, of all things, (teletype, etc.).
The purpose of typing a message, is to have it read, (i.e. communicate), right? Well, you're not communicating well if people have to scratch their heads in order to work out what you're babbling about, i.m.o. Is it really that hard to look at what words are underlined in red, that the spell-check says is wrong?
I disagree with rudeness and arrogance, I get your drift there. But I don't see what's so difficult about using a spell-checker, either, i.m.h.o.

I would say physically, as far as the forums go.

 

You should meet my gunsmith... Very interesting character. He smokes in his shop, so I don't like hanging out much.

But he does good work. He has a few opinions on politicians. :-D

 

Slow down, wpm means nothing if its not correct. Also majorgeeks is not "other forums" majorgeeks is one of the best tech support sites on the internet and stays that way by maintaining quality support. Im telling you this as a friend, its really hard to use your info, which often times is very good. We regulars know your advice is pretty good, but first time posters dont have much to go on.

I think everyone who post's here has had to make this decision at some point "I did."and most people don't get the benefit of sign post's warning that forums are not a battle of wills,the traffic flows one way.
