I'm used to buying brands like Josef Seibel.

You pay the same, maybe a bit more, but they last years, not months.

OK, my point was that i dont by brand name shoes. But just ebcause they aren't brand name doesnt mean they aren't good quality, and most of the time the ones that aren't brand name are better quality.

 

I care so little about my shoes, I can't even remember the brand.

I know that a pair of trainers that cost £4 from ASDA (owned by Walmart) are definatley not worth the money.

A lot of the new cheap nike stuff is all plastic. its not good. thats why when i went to get shoes about a month ago i went to marshalls. that and i dont even care what my shoes are as long as they as comfortable and look relatively clean.

 

i picked up these at athletes world a week ago and paid 20$ canadian becuase the style is a year old and the have a new version out and truthfully these are really comfy and durable shoes

but i got them in white!

THose look really really nice! yeah i hate when people at my school "have to buy the latest version of a shoe" so they buy like new shoes every 6 months. i hate that so much! and tehn they are worried abuot the shoes getting dirt on them. i hate that too, I mean, its a shoe, its supposed to get dirty, it keeps yoru feet clean!

 

I know. I like Foot Locker 'cause they have some nice shoes, but it's like a minimum of $60 for a pair. I mean, I don't mind if my shoes get dirty, but I still want them to look decent.

The one thing i look for when buying shoes is quality. Because my feet are so damn big i have to buy a more expensive shoe, because thoses are the only ones i can find. 2 years ago i bought a pair of Nike Shox. They lasted me the full 2 years. The only reason i had to get new shoes was because they got small. These Jordans are really nice. They where made very well. There all leather, which is very hard to find. Nike shoes mostly have some synthetic in there somewhere. Also the bottom of the shoe is firmly attached at a good point where there is not much strees. Overal a good quality shoe. I must have looked at 200 pairs before deciding, All brands and price ranges.

For me this is not a waste of money. I will most likely get 2 years out of these. If i would have gone with a cheeper pair and they lasted maybe 6 months. Then i would have to go buy another pair. every six months.

in many cases the cheaper(not the cheapest) product is more durable than the more expensive ones because the bigger company's can afford to "cut corners"

an actualy study between a polo shirt and the same style shirt bought at a wal-mart
the cheapy lasted longer. ..go figure

My friend has steel capped boots for a slightly different reason: it stops his toes being crushed by concrete railway sleepers.

I had a pair when I had to go out and cut trees down for firewood. Or rather, tree, it lasted quite a long time Nothing makes you feel more manly than chopping bits of tree up for people to put on their fire and stay alive Ugh ugh, caveman happy.

 

when I joined the army. .the boot thing just stuck. . I coldnt wear shoes anymore, just not comfy. . .
and when I worked. .I work with heavy machinery and red hot flying steel. and that was a safty thing. . . . .shoes just dont feel right anymore. . .

but saying
"there good for whoopin'"
sounds better than
"Boots are so comfy, I could just . .mmm. . die. . .tee hee!!!"

You paid that much for those? Geez...I bought a pair of Saucony gym shoes over a year ago for about $30, and they're still in premium condition. You'll be lucky if those things last you 6 months before you want new ones.

That is so true...

Once when I was working on the maintenance crew at a golf course, we had to move these big concrete blocks...You know, those things that are at the front of parking spaces to keep cars from rolling forward. Well, when we were moving the first one, I was chosen as the guy who would lift from the middle while the other two lifted from the side. Needless to say, the block slipped and fell right on my foot. If it wasn't for my steel-toed boots I was wearing, I would have five less toes than I have today.

There's a huge tear in the material, and a big scuff mark on the steel plate, still.

 

Wow 5E! My dad wears a 16 3E. I thought it was hard finding shoes for him. I have never seend a 5E!

Yeah, me too. I do like quality when I can afford it, But at about (Au) $20.00 a pair I don’t care if they're worn out in 6-12 months.

I have Floorshimes, or something for my best shoes (Au) $200.00 per pair, or thereabouts.

Those shoes from the 'Footlocker' look like Australian Rules Football boots without the studs!
