Hi i am new here. I have just found out about this site.

Two days ago my computer was infected by a virus with the name
jg6w3yx.com which uses an autorun.inf file. I tried my best to delete the file. But i couldnt because it keeps recopying as i delete it. It has now infected my C drive,D drive and my thumb drive. I could not find the file which contains the files to keep copying the virus file. So i gave up since i did not have internet in my house to however find info abt the virus and i turned my pc off.
The next day when i start my pc it keeps restarting. I am using windows xp pro sp2. My pc cant even go until the loader, and it keeps restarting. I cant do anything.

I tried hitting the F8 button and tried everything there including safe mode, last known gd configuration,.....and i also tried inserting my winxp cd and restarting.
But i ended up without be able to do nothing.

So today i found out abt this site Majorgeeks.com
I hope i will be helped.
    Thank You

    Chandra

First thing you need to do is to get your system stable.....please try following the instructions in this MS article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307545

If you then can get your system back to normal start up :

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going.

Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

    Note:

    1. If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode. You can running steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

Starting your computer in Safe mode

    2. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools on another PC and burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
