I plan on taking good care of her. Glad I got mine before they all sold out cross country. Took me 4 weeks to find one. called about 25 places nation wide and finally found a store in AZ that had one. A bit hefty in the price tag , but they are almost impossible to locate.

Ladies and gents. My Springfield M1A SOCOM 16. ... mmmm..mmmm

Now that is a sweet looking rifle. You need a sniper scope on it! My only rifle is a really old Marlin 30-30.

An AA9628 M1A SOCOM II with urban camo? Nice, Jim!:major. They are about $1,800 USD, if I remember correctly. 7.62mm have a good 'punching' power to them. ~ One of our first rifles in training were the NATO 7.62 SLR's, (which were the standard in those days).

Now to get with Tim and do some target practice. ;)

The rails cost extra but it was the only one I could find.. so I plunked down.

I hope you have an uber safe place and a gun lock for that, with two little boys in the house.

I spent several years toting a nato 7.62 SLR around, muzzle velocity 1800 feet per second and just a little bit higher if you can get your hands on military ammo

Yep, about 831 m/sec, with mil.ammo. We used the FN P90 S.MG., (something which you will be no doubt familiar with), a fair bit, too.:major

As you are no doubt aware that SLR was a formidable weapon with incredible stopping power.

If you hit a baddie with the military ammo it didn't matter where, he went down.
I just loved those copper coated rounds.
