My Router Drastically Slows Down My Internet Speeds

I just recently moved into a new apartment and i got my internet setup
when i first had it setup i had my computer connected directly to my cable modem, and my speed was great
i was downloading at 400 kbs

when i went to setup my router and wireless network everything went well
i set it up right and connected one computer wirelessly, an Xbox 360 wired, and a computer wired

but after everything was set up i realized my internet was terribly slow
i have to reload internet pages several times just to see it
i am positive is my router i have a Linksys WRT54GS

does anyone know of any settings that might need to be corrected or any other things i can do to fix my internet speeds

 

Your issue is likely your router now connects more devices which all share your connection.

 

yeah but it shouldnt effect it this badly
