So for some time whenever accesing some websites I get a pop-up windows labeled NAT Router, an is requesting my admin username and password for something calle google-analytics. I've googled this problem and I read that this has something to do with my router being infected, and that some people found the solution here. Can someone please help me?

    Hi

What Router make and model do you have? and the best option is to see if they have a firmware update and update it, even if its the same version still update it as it will wipe the firmware to default makers version software.

Sadly I fear its not the router but more so your PC and the below should be actioned,

I'm 99% sure it's not the computer, I have an active anti-virus an firewall, anyway i'll look for a firmware update

Also, is it possible that any login credentials that i use, since they get passed trough the router might be compromised?

If you think your router is infected, press the little red reset button on the bottom or back of the router. You will need to re-enter your security info.

Firewall is not going to keep you from getting infected. Can you post a screenshot of what you are getting. What is the manufacturer & model# of the router. google-analytics is a valid item, that is used by google for ad tracking.

    It's a KONIG-CMP ROUTER 10

I'll try to provide a screenshot as soon as I get the problem again

Now the other question is, where are you located?

    Romania, is that very relevant?

Yes, because location helps. Now the next question is, is this cheap Chinese router ISP provided, or is it one that you picked up?

Bought it from a local IT shop

I would ditch it and get a better router. If you can get either Netgear or Linksys products, I would do that. I just have a problem with some product that I have never heard of, and not knowing like you, how secure it is.

i doubt it's the router as i didn't always get that problem. Also i get the pop-ups from google-analytics and s.youtube.com

If you are getting pop-ups, then it is a operating system problem not the router as has previously been stated.

It's not the OS either, what happens is that when accesing some sites, my browser shows me a login window like the one you'd get on protected sites, requesting NAT router username and password, the request originating either from google.analytics or from s.youtube.com

Really can not tell you anymore than already has been covered. Suggest at this last point to get another router and see if the behavior disappears, or not.
