My Screen is Burning my retinas!

Hi how do I make my screen darker? I can't even make out white shapes on a white background (I thought it was normal until I used someone else's computer) and I'm shopping for a wedding gown! lol

There should be controls for those sort of adjustments on the monitor itself.

What type of monitor do you have?

Do you see any buttons in the front or on the side that could be used to adjust settings like the contrast and brightness?

Yes, thanks, I found them! Much better. I just wish my monitor would have a higher refresh rate (it only goes to 75hz)!
