My soundcard will not work; weirdness with MSN Messenger

I am having trouble with my soundcard. It worked fine until yesterday when I had too many applications running at the same time and my computer automatically shut down to stand by mode. This happened twice and now when I try to use my Winamp or Windows Media Player, my amp and speakers to not recognize the soundwaves even though the players themselves say that the tracks are working. I am not sure if this means that my computer has been hijacked or not as when i tried to ask for remote assistance from a friend, my computer did not recognize that MSN Messenger was installed even after i had deleted and reinstalled the program. I ran HijackThis and thsi is the logfile that came up. Help Please! I am soooo stuck on this!

Do not copy and paste logs in to your posts; always include then as attachments.

You have not complete our standard cleaning procedures.

HijackThis is installed incorrectly.

- Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

• Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

- Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:
