to those who gave me the information to download Service Pack 1 and 2. I have been able to download both.

One more queston, since I do not download a whole lot, Whe the box appears to start download, it has "Save - Run" Do you save it first and then run it when download is complete.

Thanks

Greetings, Java.

Depends upon what you're downloading, but it's been my experience that (if presented with a choice) it's better to save whatever file you're requesting and then running it from the local machine.

This method tends to cut down on network-influenced installation problems, with the added benefit of having the file stored for future installations instead of having to find and download the file again.

Java,
I always click 'Save' and save it to my Download Folder just in case I get a bad installation (possibly with a power failure or something) then I don't have to do the full download again, using bandwidth.

For your signature write it as:
[ FONT=Comic Sans MS][ SIZE=2][ COLOR=RED]Java
But leave out the space between the [ and the first letters of FONT, SIZE and COLOR then it will show up as:
Java

Ps. you have already been given sound advice on how best to download programs/software.... I always save then scan the file with my AV before opening/installing.

Also if you download something large and think you might need it again, move it off the computer after it is installed by putting it on a USB stick, an external hd or burning it to a data CD/DVD.
It is good to have the Service Packs stored just in case you need them again.
