    Hi

My website has been running very strangely, namely the Server Side Includes have not been running so none of my headers, footers or menus are displayed.

I pointed a friend in the direction of the website and he told me that there is a java exploit.

I have installed Microsoft Security Essentials which informed me that there is a virus on the website.

I am not sure how I would go about removing this virus. I thought I could maybe identify the offending file and delete it from the FTP.

I have downloaded my FTP files to a folder on my computer and scanned them, and a virus was found, but I was unable to identify a file (I have hidden files and folders on)

The domain is .iznik.co.uk but please don't click unless you know what you are doing.

I would really appreciate any input into this.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

If your PC has a real malware infection on it (not an html code infection) we could potentially help you find and remove it but you need to run our cleaning procedures:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

If your website/design is infected, you will have to go thru your code and remove any malicious scripts. Then you need to make sure that whatever you are using to design your websites and HTML scripts has been properly updated with all security patches. Also the servers that you are using need to be properly updated with all Windows and other software patches to plug up security holes. Also make sure all access to your code via ftp or whatever you use is properly password protected. Probably should change it and make sure it is a strong password. A strong password should be at least 8 characters long and should contain both upper and lower case letters and should contain at least two non-sequential numbers and should contain at least 1 special character (like !@#$%......etc)

This is outside the realm of the Malware Removal forum.
