Tomorrow. Any ideas on what I can get her. It'll have to be a quick response to this thread, because as you can see, I'm running out of time!;) ;)

    jewelry is always good.
pay for a day at a spa.
$100 gift card for Victoria secrets. (their stuff is too expensive for the average woman to actually buy anything otherwise!)
buy a tree. for a $100 you can get an already big one to plant in the garden and be known as 'the wife's tree', or you could buy ten rose bushes (hell buy a dozen rose bushes, that will make her smile).
give $100 to your wifes favorite charity.
get her a lazy boy armchair. (most households, its the man that gets the big comfy chair.)
buy her an artist easel and paint and paper.
any piece of crystal, jade, etc. ornaments that she might collect.
tickets for her and her friends to see the chippindales.
ballet or opera tickets (but you have to take her.)

hope ive given you something to think of. aloha

Does she have any hobbies that are solely for her? Buy her a gift card for the appropriate store.

    Favorite perfume.

Go away for the weekend somewhere she loves and stay in a motel overnight with all the facilities i.e. jacuzzi, spa, sauna etc

Get her a birthday cake. Wives always get everyone else them but never seem to get one themselves :) I had an awesome one last year...made my day!

Buy her a DVD movie she's wanted for ages, order in her favorite take out, buy chocs and flowers (as laurie said) and have that fire roaring for a romantic night in together. Kids? Organize a sleepover at a friends or, if old enough, give them $10 each to go to the movies ;)

    ahh the choices

    10 inch tabl saw
    plunge router
New cordless (nothing but the best for her) Dremel
    shopvac

Anything from Home Depot or Lowes would work.

Give her the best present possible. Wrap some ribbon around youself, tie a bow in front ( one of the stick on ones is allowed if you can't ) and hang a "Happy Birthday" sign around your neck! ;)

Can't go wrong with jewelry. I usually just go to the jewelry store at the mall, tell the clerk my price range and ask her what she would like.

Thanks for the suggestions. As expected the ladies offer serious ideas, and the guys fool around. I.ve decided to get something she needs, not wants...long underwear and wool socks. What do you think? Oh, I should mention, just so I don't get beat up here, I already got her a ticket to "Stars on Ice". The "meet and greet", so I won't need the rolling pin.;) :D :D

I wasn't fooling around. It was the truth. You can't beat practical gifts. She got me a chocolate teddy bear, and now she wishes she hadn't, because I ate it all in two days. :)

Actually, I have to tell you this, I haven't bought the ticket yet. My plans all along were for the warm clothing. After I started this thread, my wife told me about the skating thing coming here in March. She suggested the ticket as her Birthday present. Me being the thoughtful and avid gift-shopper that I am:rolleyes: jumped all over it. So you see, she gets what she needs and what she wants, and avoids the tedium of me disappointing her with my choice of gifts.;)
