sometimes when i start Windows 7, this appears on my desktop:

    http://d.imagehost.org/0785/Sin_t_tulo.png

I don't know where it came from, its name, how to uninstall it, or whether it's malware.

Generally it disappears immediatly, but still i want to remove it for good.

    please help!

I would start by going to control panel > programs and features. Look for a toolbar or search tool entry that may (or may not!) be titled "B.Inteligente" and remove it.

already did it.. couldn't find anything evidently related to it.
any other way to identify it?

Autoruns will find virtually anything that starts automatically. All you have to do once you have found it in the list is untick it.

just downloaded autoruns... i run searches for "b. inteligente", "inteligente", "toolbar"... couldn't find anything... how do i identify it to untick it?

If search doesn't find it then work your way carefully down Image Path. It will be there, but possibly have a name that makes it hard to recognise. If it persisted for longer we could track it down in Task Manager :(

im sorry, but should "Image Path" be one of the tabs on autoruns?? or is it something else? cause all i find is "image hijacks" tab and it's empty :/

    thanks for your help!

sach 2, it's definitely not a gadget, thanks anyway for the suggestion.
Earthling, i didn't succeed in finding it in autoruns, what else do you suggest?

    thanks for your help guys!

The popup is a Smart Search box.
What version of IE are you running?

One word of general advice when it comes to things that pop up unexpectedly while surfing - I recommend never closing the window using anything on the window itself. I always go into the task manager and close it there (ctrl-alt-del, or right click the task bar).

Problem with this mal-ware crap, like some of the rogue "security" extortion ware, is anywhere you click in the window, be it the X in the corner, the "No" button, or however the "opt-out" method is labeled, you are actually saying "Yes, please install this nasty crap on my computer"

I HATE popups! :mad I don't get many of them anymore . . . but they do "pop up" still now and then.

Spad, the popup the OP is getting is before any browser is loaded
it pops up while windows is loading.

Right, I'm clear. :) I was speaking in general terms, instigated more by your post quoted below then the OPs original issue. Whenever anything pops up unexpectedly - browser or no, I always go to the task manager to deal with it.

I'm curious to know if the OP determined what it was (hint hint) . . . I've never had a pop up like that.
