Hey, helping a friend again. I've attached logs from the cleaning procedure (there are 3 MBAM logs, 2 are from when she must have ran MBAM, both came up with stuff, third is the one I ran which came up with nothing).

Windows is having a few problems; it can't start Windows Security Center service (it comes up in the Action Center, gives an error stating it can't start when trying to start it, the security center service doesn't appear to be in services.msc), Windows Defender gives an error stating "Windows can not access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.", and I can't download files from the internet without them being automatically deleted (used a USB drive to transfer needed files for cleaning procedure).

    Thanks for the assistance.

    http://img805.imageshack.us/img805/9659/rktigzy.gif Fix items using RogueKiller.

Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
When it opens, press the Scan button
Now click the Registry tab and locate this 1 detection:

    • [V2][SUSP PATH] IHUninstallTrackingTASK : CMD - /C DEL C:\Users\jmkirby\AppData\Local\Temp\IHU8E2B.tmp.exe [x][x] -> FOUND

Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.

...and the same for these items on the file tab. (If they fail to delete we'll try another way)

When it is finished, there will be a log on your desktop called: RKreport[2].txt

    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.

Download Windows Repair by Tweaking.com and unzip the contents into a newly created folder on your desktop.

    • Now click the Start button.
    • Be patient while the tool repairs the selected items.
    • It should reboot automatically when finished.

After reboot, check to see if your firewall is working.

Re run a scan with RogueKiller (just a scan now) and attach log.

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. (Right click and run as admin if using Vista, Windows7 or Win8) Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this.

Just went through all the steps, but I couldn't delete the items in "C:\Windows\SysWOW64" until after I ran JRT & Windows Repair. Attached are the logs requested; it seems to be working just fine so far though.

    Thanks for the help!

    You're welcome.

All I see left to do is for you to delete these files:
    • C:\Windows\SysNative\iesysprep(50).dll
    • C:\Windows\SysNative\ntvdm64(51).dll
    • C:\Windows\SysNative\win32k(53).sys
    • C:\Windows\SysNative\wow64(92).dll

Let me know how it goes. Reboot after deletion and then check back to see if they are really gone.

Tried to delete them, but the wow64(92).dll won't let me delete it; it's doing the same thing the files in SysWOW64 were doing before. All the rest went fine though, rebooted and they're still gone. Any suggestions?

It's not a major issue but do try renaming it and then attempt a delete again. Rename it to something random like 123.com

Just tried renaming it; gave the same message as trying to delete. Error message:

You need permission to perform this action

You require permission from TrustedInstaller to make changes to this file

I would say it's not an issue. Is everything else running okay?

Nevermind about the wow64(92).dll, I got it deleted by taking ownership. Everything else seems to be running the way it should.

Excellent. Glad to hear it. :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others) and running MGclean.bat did not remove them, you can delete these files now.
    7. If you are running Win 8, Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below to flush restore points:
      • Refer to the instructions for your WIndows version in this link: Disable And Enable System Restore
      • What we want you to do is to first disable System Restore to flush restore points some of which could be infected.
      • Then we want you to Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
