I was in Revo Uninstaller, removing a program, and came across a program I did not recognize or recall installing. It was called Crime Watch, published by Mathematical Applications. In the website column, there is a website address: http://www.crimethreatalert.com/about.html. I searched my computer for the program and found it in 2 locations: C:\ProgramData and C:\Users\DeanaJShaffer\AppData\Local. Where could this have come from. I have never heard of this program and certainly would not have installed it. Should I just uninstaall/remove it and ignore it or try to find out where it came from? The ONLY things I have installed recently have been Windows updates and updates for programs already on my computer, like Advanced System Care, IOBit Malware Fighter, Windows Defender, etc.

ANY advice/recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

Site is popping up in my browser with a 360 Total Security warning that the site has been reported as a phishing site. Here is the warning:
Virus Total hits on files from CrimeThreatAlert run in a sandbox environment:

Malware Tips information on Crime Watch:

Maybe this was bundled with an update of one of your Iobit programs. Not to backtrack with bad tidings for Iobit, but there have been some sketchy practices from the company in the past. I doubt Crime Watch is a necessary part of any of your malware programs, and all the info on the program seems bad. Since you didn't knowingly install it, that would indicate that it is probably best to remove it with Revo or through Windows/add remove (if it shows up there) and then get the remnants with Revo.

Google searches "download Crime Watch" and "crimethreatalert.com" are the sources for above info.

Thanks! I will go ahead and get this crap OFF my computer. Funny, but when I went to the website, Norton had a banner on the site saying Crime Watch was "Web Safe, 100% Virus-free." But then again, I really don't trust Norton all that much, not after I got infected with a very nasty virus back when I used Norton.

Thanks again for the (very uick) responses and good advice!
