NetComm N3G002W Wireless Router was working perfectly. Changed to different provider and was trying to adjust settings. It wouldn't work, Tried to load the page again it came on briefly and now will not load. Keeps saying The server at 192.168.123.254 is taking too long to respond. Using Firefox, hasn't been a problem previously. Changed from 3 to Virgin USB Wireless 3G, currently the settings in the router will not work as they are wrong for both 3 & Virgin. How do I get the Browser to load the Interface.

Have you reset the router? Pull the plug for a few minutes.

I am assuming you are connectiing to the router by a computer that is connected to it by ethernet?

Try to connect using Internet Explorer. It won't bite.

    Yes

Yes on Computer says Local Area Connection (Cable from Router to Computer)

Try to connect using Internet Explorer.
Tried IE9 Safari Firefox to no avail.

On pinging states: The server at 192.168.123.254 is taking too long to respond.

Honestly I would like to eliminate the router. One thing is to reset the router, not just unplug it so you are back to factory settings.

I hope you have one around you can try because beyond that I am assuming a bad (or incompatible) router because you are in Australia so I am not familiar with ISP's and compatibility :(

I found these settings (note, the post is old but it is your router and ISP)
I read several posts where PAP was mentioned as needed, otherwise it would not connect.

Did a Reset of the Router as per instructions for the N3G002W. Still cannot get the interface page up. Did it twice still no joy.

plodr - I was inputting the data when for some reason the page closed down and now can not get it up. So to get this data into router I need router interface to load which it will not do.

I can now get the interface to work. Had the cable in the wrong slot. But the settings don't seem to work. Keeps coming up with Connect to Internet Fail No Modem Detected. I have the following settings.

    [ WAN Setting ]
    WAN Type 3G
    APN VirginBroadband
    Pin Code -
    Dialed Number *99#
    Account usernam@virginbroadband.com.au
    Password Same as virgin email
    [ Wireless Setting ]
    Wireless Enable
    SSID VirginBroadband
    Channel 11
    Security WPA-PSK (TKIP)
I have also changed Authentication to PAP
Have Avast Internet Security and notice that when I connect with the USB alone the Network Profile comes up with ISEEK COMMUNICATIONS (HUAWEI Mobile Connect, AU) does this mean this wording should be somewhere in the settings? :confused

Sorry, all that is way above my pay grade. I don't own a smart phone (just old dumb cell phone for me and hubby) so I have never used a 3G or a 4G connection to get on the internet.

"I have never used a 3G or a 4G connection to get on the internet".

Sorry for the confusion, Equipment: VirginBroadband USB Modem attached to N3G002W Router to connect computer to internet.
The browser now loads 192.168.123.254, I input the data as per previous but there must be a setting that I am not changing that is not allowing it to connect as it comes up Modem Not Found, Internet Connection Failed. Need more help with the data to input even though it seems easy enough, perhaps there is something else in the other settings.

The Modem connects to the Internet fine. I need the modem to connect through the Router everything else uses the Router e.g. printer wireless etc. The settings must be slightly out somewhere in the Router for it to not connect. I am not sure what.

    Truthfully, I don't know.
I was reading threads in the Australian Whirlpool forum and some say that router won't work with Virgin broadband; others say it does.
    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/981314
on Netcom site it indicates not to use a username and pass with Virgin
    http://support.netcomm.com.au/sm/co...s-apn-access-point-name-for-various-providers
    and
    http://www.campadelectronics.com.au...Netcomm N3G002W 3G Next G Wireless Router.php

    Lastly, contact NetComm support
    http://www.netcommwireless.com/contact-forms/support
maybe they can tell you specifically what setting in the router needs to be changed.

I have looked at all the links that you have posted, for the normal person they would probably be sufficient BUT not for me. I am sure that some setting is not right, even though I have followed the instructions.

I have the LAN cable plugged into the LAN Port of the Router.
I have input the data with and without the username@virginbroadband.com.au and Email password. I have changed to PAP.

NetComm Support are out of Hours and ideally I would like to get it working before Monday, and seeing that the modem is more than a year old, they would more than likely be charging for support which I wish to avoid.

Bought a new Router and all works as it should. Thank You to those who tried to help. The settings were very helpful for the new router. :)

Thanks for the feedback. It appears that the Netcom router doesn't work with Virgin Broadband, in your case.
