N64 Question.

I wanted to buy the game Perfect Dark at a used computer/video game store but the guy behind the counter said that I need an expantion pack to be able to play single player missions. Of course the game didn't come with the expansion pack and they didn't have any in the store. I didn't buy it because of this.

My question is this - do I need the expansion pack to play the game? Seems a little stupid to me to have a game that requires something extra to play it. I can understand a game needing an expansion pack to enhance the game but needing it to play the basic levels is stupid!

Oh yeah, the guy also said that the expansion packs are rare and hard to find.

Is this guy right? Do I need the expansion pack?

 

The N64 expansion pack was a memory upgrade, wasn't it? I bought one in order to play Rogue Squadron when it first came out.... like 6 years ago. I have no idea of their rarity, sorry. As for needing one, check out the game package. It should say right on it whether or not it needs it.

 

ok let me explain i know what I'm talking about. No you do not need the expanition pak to play the game. however without it the gameplay is only limited to challenges and trainning. with the exp pak you get to play the missions and have everything else. I know because perfect dark was the best fps on n64. note: challenges are like multiplayer but with cpu and different scenerios and let me tell you there a lot of challenges. I suggest if you buy this game you get the expantion pak. I did!!!
