So lately I've been kind of need-to-go-outside-instead involved in my mmorpg, World of Warcraft, and I was curious what everyone else plays most often these days. What game is it and what is your favorite thing about it/description of it if noone mentions it before you.

(If you didn't know) World of Warcraft (WoW) is an online game where you choose a side in the land war for control of the world (two worlds if you have the expansion pack) You are either Alliance ("good" guys) or the Horde ("bad" guys) and you complete quests/kill evil heebie geebie things to get items and money so you can get neat "stuff". There isn't really an ultimate goal, but it's a great way to unwind.

I have 4 charachters all on the Khaz Modan server, one I just started, if anyone wants to play with me who may have an account on here.

So what is everyone else's game of choice?

Hehe, college counts as having a life unless your idea of college is the leisure suit larry game. :p

I would rather have a life. Raising a family and working full time is technically a life, but it'd be nice to do things all for just me once in a while :p

How've you been? How's school going? What's your major and do you think you'll stick with it or change?

been good, thanks for asking. How have you been?

School is going fairly well, I changed my major though.

So, now I am going to for a Biochem master's, and then will specialize in forensics.

I'm burnt out on school, so I won't be changing this major :D

I used to play Flyff, but now I've tired of it and ventured on to Silkroad. I've played it for about an hour and I like it so far.

I love the Battlefield series. One of the most realistic games.
You are placed in a battlefield of either WW2 (battlefield 1942), a modern battlefield (BF 2, BF Armored furry) or a futuristic battlefield (BF 1242). What I like most is the artificial intelligence. Bots fight as much as you. It's not like Call of Duty where everyone waits for you to move.

I used to play a great little game called Dransik (Now its called Ashen Empires)
You could be a good or bad depending if you go about killing people, it would mainly involve killing things as at the time their werent many profitable quests, but saying that it was the most addictive game i have played. HUGE level gaps made it a very diverse and fun game. I played for over a year and only got to level 70!

Used to play WoW but after 5-6 months of playing i got very bored of it, had maxed out my char, quests were kinda redundant then, also only being able to play when your raid group has a planned dungeon raid is very annoying, i was no longer able to play when i wanted, it was play when the leaders of the raid group said so (When lvl60 your only source of new weapons/armor/experiances is huge 40man dungeons) PVP is fun for a bit, but after a while only being able to pvp in 3 different areas, it can get a bit tedious and boring (especially when you log on to find a 1hour wait before you can actually pvp!!!)

Never got into the WoW, but i do remember Leisure Suit Larry....LMAO!! THat was a great game. (8bit old skool). Having switched to a night schedule of 3on 3 off and 11 hour shifts, I am still adjusting to my schedule and my gaming is down. Mostly, I have beengaming on the game cube with my son. Although, I am likely getting a used X-Box from a coworker, in which case, I need to hack the x-box live and get Halo2. But we'll see.

big fan of the BF2, when it works right for me.

some of the mods out there for BF2 are simply awe inspiring. Project Reality comes to mind and so does Point of Existence.

Vanguard Saga of heros is the newest mmo, made by sony. http://vgplayers.station.sony.com/ Very cool, Im enjoying it lots, and can dig up some screenshots if you wish. Part i enjoy is you can level as a crafter/diplomat not just a fighter. So it leaves a lot open for leveling.

Lately I have been playing a lot of counterstrike. I like it because you can play it offline or online and you can have a good time playing for 10 mins or so. I play it for a few mins or a few hours depending on what time it is, it is fun (even though I suck!), lots of action.

    Just my current game.

My addiction is Guild Wars, an online RPG game with nice graphics, interesting storylines and great gameplay. I'm not a pvp player, I prefer the adventures, to go out with a team and defeat evil. For me, the game is more than just playing, as very many of my close friends (and partner) plays it, for us it is a social event, and I probably spend more time online on the game chatting, than fighting... :)

One of my character, "photo" taken last Halloween:

I've spent some time lately developing a mod-pac for Oblivion. I've modified a few dozen of the vanilla-oblivion quests and hope to release it soon on TESSource. I'm testing it now with a new character, and later I'll add in the latest official release mod-pacs. There is a potential for my mod to conflict with at least one of the official mods, as some of their scripts are attached to some of the same game-world objects that I've chosen as a trigger. If I could see their scripts, I could easily verify that, however, the Construction Set that I have, won't open the new mod-pacs. So until a new Construction Set is released, I'll be doing trial and error testing. It's tedious, but in an odd way, it's fun.

y'all are grounded. You're not just supposed to name it off, you're supposed to talk about it! Mostly because i'm lookng for a new addiction. So far guild wars looks pretty close to my style. My BF plays Battlefield and it looks awesome but I can't figure out for the life of me what the hell he's doing and the mumbly graing russian in the backround bugs me. :p

    Screenshots for vanguard.

One of the things i really like about vanguard is you can level three different areas, adventuring, crafting, and diplomacy each having different methods and options. Lots of people on vanguard that i have talked with came from wow, wanting better graphics and such, which vanguard delivers. Its a very demanding game, requires a nice system to enjoy. Right now the worlds are a bit shakey as its been out for only 2-3 weeks now, but its still loads of fun. The website for vanguard, http://vanguard.station.sony.com/.

Guildwars i played for a bit, but it has a level cap of 20, and just seemed odd to me, can't explain it, but didn't dig guildwars. But one nice thing about guildwars is that theres no monthly fee just the beginning purchase of the game. Vanguard has the purchase of the game + monthly fee, its 14.95 a month + 50 some for the game install.

For some more random guildwars screenshots.

Now one thing about guildwars thats different is the way they handle exploring. When you leave a major area your instanced to your own "group", meaning you won't run in to any one else like you would in most rpgs, now you can group with people before leaving a town/city what ever, and those people will still be with you in that instance, but if not you won't see anyone else. Hope that helps

WoW does that too, for instances... Dungeons, to keep a million people from all going after the same thing, because that would suck. Everything outside the instances you have to wait for respawn.

It's kinda neat, you can request across a channel or put your name into a queue to help you find people to join your group to enter any given instance if you dont already have people of your own to go in with. The group leader can choose how valuable items are ditributed, either free for all or by turns, or they collect the high val's and distrubute after the run, the leader can also choose if the instance is set to normal difficulty or 'epic' meaning it's alot nastier to go through. Most the of the bad guys inside the instances are elite, meaning they hit harder and take alot longer to kill than regular NPC's

yeah i dont play well with others, so i dont go in very often unless they're below my level and i go in by myself. hehe
