National Hot Rod Association Driver Scott Kalitta Killed in Crash

ENGLISHTOWN, N.J. — Scott Kalitta died Saturday when his Funny Car burst into flames and crashed at the end of the track during the final round of qualifying for the Lucas Oil NHRA SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park.

This was something that was absolutly jaw dropping, a very major loss in motorsports

 

I just saw the "Racing Thread" I was in a hurry when I did this one, I hope it's alright.. would have been good there, but something like this deserves to be singled out I think. It's a shame, but I'd bet that Scott would have answered this way had he been asked "How would you like to go out?" It didn't look like much pain, had to be a heck of a shock wave inside the car..

I used to work for a guy that was friend with this driver down close to Harrisburg, PA

Ya MA, maybe he was hopefully unconscious. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy!
