NBA finals

I'm a Columbus Ohio person, but I'm sitting in a hotel in Detroit Mi as I type this. I could honestly care less about this NBA finals (no Cavaliers = no care LOL). But I just got back from a sports bar here and it was insane. So I figured I'd post a thread to get people's opinion on who is going to win this championship. For the 3 people who care about this, I'd like to hear your opinion.

 

Detroit, at least that's who my wife says is going to win. And I know better than to argue with her about that.

I'd go with Detroit, my boyfriend doesn't agree with me either! lol

 

forgot to mention, Im not a fan of either team!

 

I don't care personally, but it's going to be a living hell going to my bar (which is a sports bar) if Detroit doesn't win.

 

I'm sure the good thing about it is you'll make a lot of money on those nights!

 

I wasn't clear. By "my" bar, I meant the bar which I normally patronize. I do not own a bar, nor do I work in one.

I was never into the bar scene but now, I work in a bowling alley at night, which has a bar and on sports nights it does get crowded.
I would say tho that it gets the most people on superbowl night. I really only watch basketball and baseball during the playoffs etc. That's when I find these games most exciting. Now football is my thing. I watch any game I can when I can! I don't find football boring, maybe cause it's a short season and doesn't go on and on like baseball and basketball!

 

If I`m going to watch basketball...it`s college ball. The NBA doesn`t do it for me...too many lazy over-paid inner city thugs making way too much money. I like the intensity of college ball....they all play defense and hustle....the same can`t be said about the NBA.

 

I would have to agree in college its just so much better since there not getting paid a billion dollars and are working hard to get up to that point then they go into the NBA and then get Lazy and cocky and overated.

 

I think a lot of atheletes are overpaid, especially in football, baseball and basketball. It's ridiculous!

I'm talking the pros of course!

 

I haven't watched the NBA since Jordan left the 1st, 2nd, 3rd....11th time..

 

It`s true Jordan`s talent was prodigious. But anyone old enough to remember the Doc...Julius Irving...may tell you he was every bit as talented...but a better player because he was a TEAM player. I was annoyed...and still am, when they show the clip of Jordan driving to the hole with the ball in his right hand, and he switches, in mid-air, to his left. There was no defender threatening the layup. Can you say..."Mustard on your hotdog sir?"

 

I think the general consensus around here may be that the NBA sucks right now. I agree. I really can't stand it. But yet this sport thrives. Go figure.

I just hate basketball. It's probably the worst thing anyone could make me sit through, including golf. I hated basketball when I was being paid to be at the games, even.

Hockey, now...there's a sporting event! I'm even starting to like arena football a little (not so much regular football, but that comes from having a home arena team, I guess...even if they do suck!).

 

I never liked anything but football until I met my bf. He watches EVERYTHING!
Drives me crazy... I was able to get into baseball a lot easier than basketball. Hockey I used to watch cause of the fights, arena football is pretty good, just started to watch it on occasion last year. Golf for me is the worst thing, just not enough action!
my bf is a knicks fan so thats how I learned to watch basketball. I guess when you get stuck watching it several times a week, you tend to get into it!

 

Of course...right now there is no NHL...but fights? The last full season on the NHL...there were less players involved in fights than major league baseball. Of course...you`re not supposed to pitch inside anymore.

 

No, but there is AHL and UHL. In fact, our local UHL team took the Colonial Cup for the second year in a row, three out of four years, this year.

Our local AHL team kinda sucks, but I love them anyway.

 

HaHa, You're probably right I'm sure! It's been many years since I've watched hockey! That's one of the few sports that my bf doesn't watch. I like to watch boxing tho...My step-dad got me into that!
