Hi all, I found this on TweakXP.com (http://www.tweakxp.com/tweak557.aspx) which tells me to set my prefetch settings to 0, 1 or 2 to speed up boot time. Before I do this does anyone know if there are any drawbacks or problems associated with this speed up?

    Thanks,
    learning little by little.

No the tweak is ok to use no problems associated with it at all.

what you are doing is adding common used programs into the prefetch folder located in the Windows folder thus shortening a bit the time taken to locate and run the desired program or file.

Also one thing to consider it maybe worth while say once a month deleting all the files in the prefetch folder as it may contain obsolete entries.
