Came across this the other week, while researching something nothing to do with weather, but found this and really cool earth map of wind, temp etc.

To change some parameters click the "earth" name on the bottom left side, can drag the map around and zoom in (use mouse wheel).

Hi sorry it didn't work with older IE, does work with Firefox, although I do run Nightly a permanent alpha of next gen Firefox, so should be ok with current Firefox and is ok with Chrome.

    Thanks DavidGP.

I found a nifty little weather app from Russia(rolleyes). It's called YoWindow. It's even available for Android.

    Off topic.

Microsoft should swallow it's pride and dump Windows Phone in favour of Android. Android's market share of 85% vs. Microsoft's 3% says it all.

Funny as Windows Phones despite the lack of apps and most apps even on Android and Apple are Zombie ones, as in never really used (500k apps and >100 really used), so more is less. The pity with Win Mobile is missing core apps but its catching.

Windows Mobile OS is really good and stable, Apple cannot attest to that as my iPhones are problematic still, the two Windows phones I have are good and now my dad who is a null technogeek can use his Win Phone better than the iPhone I gave him, my mum has the iPhone now but she wants a Win Phone like my dad.

Apps are not the be all and end all, they can be too some programmers and techs that Apple and Droid serve and WMP dont but if you have not tried a Windows Phone do...

We are going off topic... again. But here goes.

I'm happy with my Samsung Galaxy Pockcet Neo. I don't care about the countless apps. I have a PC with a nice 18.5" screen. And REAL programs. I also have Windows XP (modified), Windows 7, Ubuntu on CD, and Linux Mint on a Memory Stick.

You can't really work on a Smartphone, or tablet. Windows Phone, iOS, Android, etc. are no good for REAL work. I would like to see anyone design a Supermarket or Car on a Smartphone...

Going off topic - I would like to see AnyBody design a store or a car on a regular home computer!

    DavidGP,
I don't intend to hijack your thread but, when someone opens the door...

Imandy Mann, a friend's son-in-law designs the complete layout of supermarkets on a laptop. And he does it from home.

Over the years I have found some amazing graphics design software thanks to coverdiscs - FloorPlan 3D 8 (July 2006), progeCAD 2008 Smart! (June 2008), Shade 7 E designer LE (July 2006), and Blender. The latter, used with other free software, has been used to make short films like Elephants Dream in 2006. There are numerous free and commercial software programs (CAD) with which you can design almost anything - the only limitations are your skill and imagination. Draughtsmen (and woman), and architects all use CAD programs.

The bottom line is, no matter how advanced smartphones, tablets, and phablets are, there are limitations. The biggest limitation is the small screen.

PS Regular home computer means different things to different people. For the equivalent of $5,000 I can buy a PC that will run any CAD program.

Now, let's talk about the weather...rolleyes
