My CD/DVD Driver is a NEC DVD+-RW ND-6500A and my computer will not recognize the driver. It will not even show up in My Computer. I looked it up in my Device Manager and the the Driver Status says
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device"

I have no idea what caused this as it has been working fine for a long time.
I, of course, clicked that Troubleshoot button, but was no use, I did whatever it told me, and that did not fix my problem. I uninstalled the driver and had Add New Hardware to reinstall it, and that did not work. What I'm trying to do next is download a new driver for it and reinstall it that way. But I cannot for the life of me find out where I can download that particular driver. From what I understand these sorts of drivers should not need to be replaced as they are pre-loaded from microsoft?

If anybody knows a way I can fix this or knows a good hardware driver archive that I might download it from, I'd really appreciate it.
