well i have been having trouble with my dvd burner... I used everest ultimate edition and i got the following info out of it...

    _NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A (DVD+R9:4x, DVD-R9:4x, DVD+RW:16x/8x, DVD-RW:16x/6x, DVD-ROM:16x, CD:48x/24x/48x DVD+RW/DVD-RW)

Now i have burnt DVD-RW before but i just recently purchased a whole pack of 25 Sony DVD+R 120min/4.7GB AccuCORE discs (1x-8x compatible)... according to everests list of info, my burner doesn't support these discs.

when i insert them the nero item comes up and asks if i want to create a new disc. i go create new data disc and it comes up as if it were a CD. what should i do? does it mean i can't support these DVD+R discs?

Skip what Everst says for now.

What does your manual or box that came with your dvd burner say? What about the symbols on the drive itself?

Does it have: DVD-RW or DVD+RW or DVD±RW?
