I need a browser that allows me to block active scripting of web pages, like IE allows you to do. I see there are many freeware browsers for my system, Windows ME, available on Majorgeeks. Anybody out there using any of these freeware browsers, especially the lesser known browsers.

By "active scripting" do you mean ActiveX? Internet Explorer is one of the very few that actually support it! (They're both Microsoft technologies)

My preference is Firefox, which will also allow you to disable java and javascript. (It also has the NoScript extension available to it, which would make blocking scripts a little easier - push a button as opposed to making settings changes.)

I've also tried and liked Opera, which will also let you disable java and javascript.

hi, I don't know that much about active scripts. I know with my IE6 I can go to security custom level and choose to enable, disable or prompt for active x, active scripting and java applets. I am not sure of what the difference are?
