Need a codec

Some of the videos I try playing in Winamp only play the music to the video but supply no picture. I tried Windows Media Player and Divx and that got me the exact same result. So I went out on a limb and used Windows Media Player Classic and got this error

Any suggestions for a good codec? I don't want to go and download some random codec because I'm clueless with codecs.

If you do not wish to install a lot of codecs and a multitude of media players, try VLC http://www.majorgeeks.com/VLC_media_player_d4674.html

 

I would also suggest you use something like GSpot, AVICodec, or Video Inspector to scan the file, and tell you what codec is required and where to download it.

It's much better than installing codec packs, which can cause a lot of problems.
