Hi. I've got a PCI USB hub without a driver. Cannot seem to find it anywhere! It's made by NEC (Hong Kong), serial - uPD9210/72010xx. Cannibalised from a broken computer. New computer running Vista. Help please. Thanks

    Hi

Not much around on this USB Controller apart from users wanting drivers for Linux varients, so in Device Manager do you have any yellow ! marks at all, (likely a USB one for this device or unknown) but do list all you find, as it may just be a case of installing the chipset driver for the motherboard used and reboot and it may find the USB PCI device.

Your Windows Vista is what Service Pack?

What is the motherboard make and model or what is the PC make and model if an OEM one (like HP, Dell, ACER etc)?

    Hi.

When I inserted the card and booted up. Widows claimed to have installed drivers and needed a reboot. On reboot it 'found new hardware' but couldn't find drivers.

In Device Manager - Other Devices, there are three with yellow warnings. Each is described as simly 'PCI device'. No other info in properties.

My OS is Vista Home Premium SP2 and fully updated. The Motherboard is made by ASUSTeK, Model P5B, version Rev 1.xx

    Thanks, Graham

    Hi

Try re-installing the Chipset driver HERE and reboot and then see if it works, may need to pull out the PCI card first then reboot and then re-insert and reboot to see if Windows picks up the card.

If not on the card are their any FCC ID codes or makers markings?

Hi Halo, Many thanks for your help. I have decided that the hassle isn't worth an extra set of (old!) USB sockets. I have removed the card.

    Thank you for your time.

    Regards Graham
