OK, recently got me an 02 Camry. Overall in great shape for it's age. Except for the trim on the passenger side windows. Those look rough! I found these: http://www.autoanything.com/chrome-accessories/61A3669A0A0.aspx Which should cover the pillar, or vertical parts. What would I use for the rest of the window trim?

And how much faster will the car go with cool chrome looking stuff? :-D Just joking, the driver's side is ok, but the passenger side is rough. I could try to rattle can it, but I just don't think that will look right.

Dangit, the ones they sent were the wrong size... So, I did a little shopping on the FlEabay, and I found some interesting pillar covers. Can't decide which one to get. The price is not really a variable. The chrome looking ones look nice, but could be a problem depending on how thick the 3M adhesive is. They might kinda stick out. I am liking the carbon fiber ones, a little less 'flashy'.

So, which do you you like better?

    Stainless metal http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-0...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

Or the carbon fiber stuff http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-0...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

    Ahh, decisions, decisions... :-D

It is dark now, will try to get a picture of the offending area I am trying to cover up.

I used it on my old Celebrity. It had a scuffed off area on the door pillar where the previous owned used it as a handle to shut the door.

Once you start with carbon fiber trim, it's only a mattter of time for the neon light kit and coffee can muffler.;)

If I ever post with a tricked out exhaust system for a 4 banger Camry, I ask you kindly sir, to please come and shoot me. :-D Or at least come and check on my meds, as I would be very crazy to do that... :-D

I am really thinking about the carbon ones, just because they are not as 'flashy' as the chrome. Here is a picture of the offending area of the car.

Carbon Fiber pillar covers ordered. :-D

Seems it has sprung an oil or power steering fluid leak. :cry Will try to get it on a lift and see what is wrong. This is not a very user friendly engine to work on. Good thing I know a guy with a shop with all the tools, and lifts and such. :cool

Dang used cars not acting like new ones! I blame Bush. ;)

Power steering is a popular leak with the toyotas of that vintage. Mine is older and that's it's favorite. If the fluid reaches the exhaust it smells like eletrical and melted rubber mixed together. That had me nervous about it dying unexpectedly but i just can't kill it. Once I figured out it was just burnt power steering fluid, i ignored it for a good long time!

I wish it was the power steering fluid. Mine is leaking out of the front engine seal(s). Going to save a little more $ up, then it is off to the shop. I am going to have all the front seals replaced, and possibly the rear main depending on how far they have to take it down to fix the front seals. Going to get a new belts and all as well.

Fred I bought a used Mitsubishi Eclipse from Steve Villavaso at full Service Auto Repair on Coursey Blvd. They had a shop on Plank Rd north of Main Street in Zachary. Anyway I bought it in 2004, it is a 1994 and it still runs great.
