I need to upgrade my graphics card as you will see from my system stats: Acer aspire t180 amd athlon 64 dual core 2.3 3gb ram 250hdd and the standard nvidia geforce 6100!!! It's a mine field. All i want is something to cope with more than basic stuff! Small budget also-around £50-100 ($100-200) roughly. Maybe theres a site with all the info i need but can't find it i swear! I'm not a hardcore gamer so nothing too fancy!

Thanks to the answers to my last post. System is now running 3gb instead or 1gb and is great!

Ooh, too bad you don't live in Canada or else that would have easily fit your budget with an 8800GT

Here are some good 8800GT that I found using a price checker for UK

Just search for 8800GT and you should be able to get some pretty decent graphics cards. 8600GT is also pretty good and that's what I'm running right now. They will both be a huge improvement over your current card.

Just make sure that you have a pci-e slot because from your specs, I gathered that you might have an OEM system from one of the big computer manufacturers. Last time I had one of those there was no slot for the video card on the motherboard so I couldn't upgrade the video from the crappy onboard graphics.

The 8800GT looks very good and will prob be all i ever need! I do have a PCIe slot which is good. Have been looking on internet but having trouble finding someone to ship to the UK.

PS will i need an additional power supply and a cooler of some sort with 8800?

you can buy 9800GT for the same money as 8800 GT , good luck :)

You will probably need to upgrade your power supply. Stock power supplies are notoriously weak. A good name brand 450-550w should be fine. A unit from Antec, ThermalTake, OCZ, PCP&C, Corsair, or CoolerMaster will do the job....
