Need A Thumb Drive For Ps4

I have a large cache of family photos I want to screen on my PS4. The only thumb drives my PS4 will read are older models (like ones that are around 10 years old.) Newer ones from the same brand can't be read. Looking online I see suggestions that this model is compatible for a PS4, but have no idea what criteria I should be judging this on.

Can anyone tell me what new thumb drive I can use (the old ones don't have enough memory for these pics.) Or should I get an External SSD and load the images there? Please help!

 

This is the better option.

 

Ensure the drive is formatted as FAT32.
Ensure you’re creating the folders correctly - on the root of the USB create a folder named Photos & add the pictures to this folder.
What file type are the photos in?

 

Thanks. I've never formatted for FAT32 so I'd have to look up how to do that. Most of the files are jpg or jpeg, and a few are PNG.

 

The .jpg/.jpeg should be fine, not too sure about the .png.
You should be able to format it by right clicking on the drive & choosing format.

 

Thanks. I've noticed some flash drives are listed as FAT32 formatted in the description. Should I go ahead and order one like this?

 

It states currently unavailable so you may want to try one of your current USBs & format it for FAT32
