I need a WINDOWS 7 HOME PREMIUM Activation KEY CODE.. for a xp.. I just installed Windows Home Premium already, (or my computer guy did).

Heres the problem... The installation of WINDOWS HOME PREMIUM 7 that my comp guy installed was his Cd,,, and that it was for only installing on the 1 COMPUTER. He didnt tell me this. I went to activate the code and obviously didn't work.

I called MICROSOFT, they said its not legal to do that. I didnt know this... so I was told to get another upgraded/key-code of Windows Home premium..

CAN SOMEONE help me with this and if theres a not so expensive key-codes thats genuine for me to get.

What can I do with limited means of income? This really kinda of screwed me..

ISomeone told me that they got a genuine key-code from google and it was activated and it work .. DOES ANYONE know where I can get cheaps codes like that or close to it.???

Obtaining free activation codes is ILLEGAL.

You will have to buy another copy from a trusted online store or retailer near you. Newegg is probably one of the cheaper ones.

You might want to look into an OEM version as it will most likely be cheaper, but this will mean that you cannot transfer the license to another machine.

What is OEM VERSION??? What do you mean??? I just need the activation on the one computer of mine only.

Since I have a XP COMPUTER HOME EDITION... "installed is the windows 7 home premium now . My question is... What can I do do make this the lowest cost for me???

I have no idea what you meant by OEM???

Do you or anyone that reads this post have links that I can check regarding the keycodes for lowest price.

Im starting college in JUNE too.
Someone had mentioned that I could get a STUDENT LICENSE.. WHAT does that mean and do for me???

As for the student version, ask someone at your college who has got it and ask how they got it and where.

OEM means that it cannot be transfered to another PC.

This link below is to an OEM version.

This one, to a full retail version.

But you can probably get it cheaper as a student, if you are a student, surely you have friends who have tried to get a copy with a student discount?

    Yes, I guess I am up the creek without a ... paddle:wave.

Im not a computer person .OBVIOUSLY.. this is why I had computer friend of mine origionally was to fix my XP issues I have on there, so he couldn't and I am assuming he just thought it would be easiest to install another without the hassle.

    Hmmm??? grrrrrrr:confused:p
