Need an expert opinion.

Hey guys, I just built a computer for the first time. It was a cheap 350$ barebone kit. AMD Phenom x4 64. Since it was my first time I had to try to guess what to do after everything was put together. So I had virtually NO CLUE on the bios settings, my other rig was from 2004 and the BIOS was so simple. But with this card I HAVE NO IDEA. Like in the performance boost settings, upgrading the voltage for performance and the CPU frequency, I diddnt know what to put so I basically took a shot in the dark and set everything to medium. The problem with this pc is that it lags like crazy in games, I set up the graphics card and everything works fine. Even before I messed with the bios it ran crappy. My old pc outperforms a quad core and its an Athlon 64 1 core rig. Any expert opinions? Ill link specs and hopefully you can tell me if I need to unlock cores or anything, its not too bad, its just confusing. I have no problems with it on the desktop or anything. This rig shouldnt lag period. Or should I just take it to the pc shop down the street and let them set it up, but im kinda low on cash so id like to do it myself. Post your exact system specs

 

You should read the manual that comes with your motherboard and it should tell you how to configure the BIOS.
