need assistance

My computer is new (only about 1 year old) and I havent had any problems with it until recently. Its running extremely and unusually slow, and whenever I run any programs at all the fan inside the computer turns on and is extremely loud, and wont shut off until I restart my computer (so loud and annoying that I have to restart my computer just to hear myself think). I have never had this problem before, and it is not a hardware problem. The only thing I can think of is that a lot of malware or viruses on my computer are eating up all of the virtual memory and causing my computer to overwork itself. I have run all of the 'read me and do me first' programs, and it hasnt seemed to have helped a lot. Ive noticed that in my task manager processes there are a lot of things running with names that I do not recognize, they could be normal programs but I really just dont know. I have attached the hijackthis log that I have from the scan that I did. Any help would be really appreciated.

Since you complaint is a slow PC which does not necessarily mean malware, first please goto Add/Remove programs and uninstall all software that you do not use. The largest factor to your performance may just be Symantec.

Is your copy of CounterSpy a paid version or a free trial version. If free, when was it installed?

To determine if you are having malware problems, you must complete the below. HJT logs are insufficient reports!

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, renaming, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:

CounterSpy

AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy

Bitdefender - from step 6

Panda Scan - from step 6

runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat

newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat

HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!
