Need Durable Laptop Recommendations

    Can anyone recommend a durable, heavy-duty laptop that has a high tolerance for temperature, shock, and extreme conditions?

    Is the Panasonic ToughBook the only choice?

    The ToughBook is famous for it's ruggedness. I think Toshiba makes (or used to make) a similar product. You can also check with Asus. They make pretty good laptops. IBM Thinkpads are rugged by nature. They aren't built like a ToughBook and aren't designed to survive the elements like a Toughbook, but they are pretty freekin' tough.

    I have an Acer Aspire 5610z and it's never let me down. Acer's are really good quality for the money.
