I need help choosing a video card that supports my motherboard Asus M4N68T-M V2. I called ASUS and talked to a rep that told me this motherboard was an older version and the bios did not support PCIE 2.0 or 2.1 only PCIEX16 slot cards, I am a little disapointed because I am looking for a video card that can run battlefield 3 on low-mid settings with a 720p resolution for my native 720 monitor. any help would be great I can spend upto $150 on a video card that is PCIEX16 not 2.0 or 2.1 anyone that has a Asus M4N68T-M V2 motherboard cant help me out please do!

It doesn't work that way. x16 is the speed of the slot, 2.0 and 2.1 is the protocol. You can use any PCIe card in that slot. Cards are backwards compatible.

Okay thanks for clearing that up DIG. okay so I have chosen to get this card. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6078144&CatId=3669 only question I have is it requires a 6pin pcie connector it comes with 2 molex to 6pin pcie adapter. only problem is I only have one molex cable free on my psu so Im going to be buying a molex splitter to use. I have a generic 500w PSU
and this card only requires 450w so this should work correct? this card isnt power hungry so my question is the splitter should work correct? I dont have enough money to upgrade my PSU and if I did i wouldnt be getting a 5770 ;) any input helps.

You'll have to upgrade your PSU sooner or later, especially since it's a generic one which can take out your whole machine if it blows. Your risk man.

BTW, it's not the card itself that takes 450W but your whole system according to their thinking. A video card takes 75W from the motherboard and another 75W for the 6-pin.

here is my PSU The system is powered by a 500 Watt Turbolink branded switching power supply with model number ATX-TL500W-BK. This is a brand that we haven't heard of before. It has two +12V rails with +12v1 being rated at 16 Amps and +12v2 being rated at 18 Amps.
