HI I need help figuring out this problem with my HP desktop hard wired into a linksys router. But randomly in the past few weeks I can't get a internet connection. I called my DSL and they say everything looks good. Checking the logs I find ' computer has lost its lease to its IP address 192.168.0.xx on the network card with Address - xxxxxxxxxxx'. It doesn't work to reboot the pc; it doesn't work to 'refresh/release/renew'; I have a laptop hard wired into another port on the router which hasn't had an issue; and the wireless also works without problems.
How do I fix this? :confused

Is your IP address on your computer static or assigned by DHCP?

Called COX support again and this time it cleared the problem by resetting everything. Even though they reported the signal was strong prior. They say it is a wireless type of error, but This computer is hard wired to the router. We'll see how long I stay up this time.;)
