I right click on MY COMPUTER, then click MANAGE, then expand EVENT VIEWER, then click SYSTEM, then click on the error that is showing. It's always the same error & is as follows:

The ccaddrv service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot fing the file specified.

Can anyone help me find how to cure this error & what it means ? Thanks.

    Hi Clark Kent:

    Checked using contrl-alt-del & IT"S NOT THERE.

You don't offer a suggestion if it's not there, only if it is; so now what ?

    Thank you for your response.

As its a service, you may be able to at least stop the service, by going to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services > look for the ccaddrv service and look at its properties, may link you to the actual executable, in which if you right click > properties you may find who the developer of the file is, which may herald the device its linked too.

if all else fails you can STOP and set the startup type of that service to disabled, which will at least stop the error in event viewer.

    Good Morning Halo:

Thank you for your response. I've done what you suggest, only that service IS NOT IN THE LIST, so I can't look at it's properties.

    Thanks anyways.

Did you try this part of Clark's post to see if its listed in this location, I suspect it's lurking in the run hive of the registry, if it is in msconfig > startup list, then best not to un-tick from their as msconfig is a troubleshooting tool over a final fix.

download this pretty safe registry tool ( I mention this one as its very easy to work ) Regcleaner its free, once installed and run, click the Startup tab and if that file is listed tick it and click remove, it is backed up in case it causes an error.

the final thing is that another app is calling for that file and seeing its not their errors, but is your PC working fine otherwise?
