Hi all, was hoping to ask some help here before I posted to the specialist forum. I downloaded a fake torrent and I think I've been having computer problems ever since. I don't think it's an ongoing infection as task manager doesn't show any excessive usage going on, it's more like I got drive-by'd and need help fixing the damage. My computer is just really unstable and will crash at the drop of a hat, so I'm wondering if it might be possible to fix any problems by using the Windows install disk. I'm using Windows 10 and Firefox browser, have scanned with Malwarebytes (found 6 PUP's, quarantined them all). When I downloaded the torrent, when I clicked on it it was a shortcut to command prompt but I couldn't see if it did anything from there. Any help would be most appreciated, thanks.

You could use the install disc....if you wipe everything first. Or do the Read and Run First in the specialist forum.

Ok, thank you very much for the reply. Trying to get a new comp for Dad before Win7 stops being supported so need to put some ducks in a row but I'll try and get on the Read and Run ASAP. Thanks again.
