Need help from someone familiar with Pc-cillin

To just keep the firewall, can I turn off the following running processes from Pc-cillin( Bolded), and leave just the firewall process (underlined)? The reason for this is to optimize online gaming by maximizing RAM for the game.

C:\PROGRA~1\TRENDM~1\INTERN~1\TmPfw.exe

PccGuide.exe is PC-cillin's Anti-Virus real-time monitor.

PcCtlCom.exe is a Trend Micro Internet Security module.

Tmntsrv.exe is part of PC-cillin Internet Security, but some variants of the RBOT worm can also use this so make sure you aren't infected.

Tmproxy.exe is the executable for the PC-cillin antivirus program.

I don't use PC-cillin, but looking at the processes you should be able to terminate all of them except the 2ND and 3RD ones, however I'm sure you can disable your AntiVirus temporarily.

Norton has that feature (right-clicking systray icon) and I'm sure PC-cillin would have also?

 

There is a way to disable real-time scanning, however, that does not terminate any of the running processes. I'm thinking that I can disable "PccGuide.exe" "PcCtlCom.exe" "Tmntsrv.exe" "tmproxy.exe", and just leave "TmPfw.exe" running. Afterall I just want the firewall component to be running and the real time scanning and antivirus protection can be turned off.

 

why not just get more ram and keep yourself protected

 

Because closing a few processes is a lot easier, and $90 CAN cheaper.
