    Hello,
I recently rebooted my computer. I saved my iTunes library onto my other hard drive while I was rebooting. After I rebooted my computer and redownloaded iTunes, I put my library back onto my iTunes file, and everything reappeared on my library except my eMusic files, I really need these files back onto my iTunes.
    Also, I have Windows XP.
    Thanks in advance,
    -Dave

are the emusic files still stored on your hard drive? or did you wipe them? can you just do a search on your computer for them?

I can't find them, I may have wiped them.
Those files are still on my emusic account, is there any way for me to retrieve them from there?

Is there any way for me to get the music from my iPod back onto my iTunes library?

i think if you just sync it, it will put them back...check the options for itunes, i think there's a way just to sync from the ipod to the pc...then you can set it back to the defaults.

Be careful here. I don't think you can sync from iPod to PC. I tried it once and wiped out all my sons iPod tunes. He wasn't happy. I hope, and wish, that I am wrong as I need to get all my music from my iPod back to my PC as well, so look forward to expert advice on whether this is possible or not. Bazza

My apologies for bumping this but I really would appreciate an iPod experts answer, otherwise I am going to have to reload over 1,600 again. :cry :(

i am sorry, but i am no ipod expert either, but reading this on apple's support site is, umm, not what i was hoping:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1329

it seems as if you can only re-sync itunes store purchases only, not mp3's that you may have added yourself.

Thanks for your help, thesmokingun. I don't believe it can be done (music from iPod to PC). I tried a few different methods but none of them worked successfully. I eventually used one of my backups to transfer all my songs from external backup hard drive to C: I was hoping for an easier way.

I used Acronis True Image v11 but what an exercise. My path was from E:\documents and Settings\Barry\My Documents\My Music to the equivalent in C: drive. Acronis "helped me" by ticking everything "on" in my Documents and Settings Folder, so after selecting E:\documents and Settings\Barry\My Documents\My Music, I had to "untick" everything else in that Folder. What a drag. There has to be a better way. Still it worked and I now have all my music back on my C: drive. :major :cool ;)

I will investigate changing my Folder from C:\documents and Settings\Barry\My Documents\My Music to simply C:\My Music as this would really simplify restoring music, if again necessary.
