    The comp. has be *&^%$ lately...*coughs
    I need help : )

    So far I've followed all the steps in the READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide thread.
    But came across some difficulties.

    1. dont get step #4 [GetRunKey & ShowNew]
    2. safe mode doesnt work
    3. Panda ActiveScan doesnt work
    4. firewall is not working anymore [error message]

    Help me please.

    Just to make things easier....can someone tell me how to reinstall everything.
    I dont even want to back up anything, I just want to reinstall all.

    If you want to remove malware, this is the correct forum.

    If you want to format and reinstall Windows, this is not the correct forum. For that you should post in the Software Forum.

    Okay so how much of the READ & RUN ME have you completed?

    What is it about step 4 that you don't get? The instructions are rather detailed on the download pages for GetRunKey and ShowNew.

    Please be more descriptive then saying "doesn't work"? What happens exactly? Do you get error messages? Does the program start to run and then freeze?......etc.

    If you cannot run in safe mode, everything in the READ ME should be done in normal boot mode as explained in the READ ME.

    You say your firewall does not work but you did not say what firewall you are using and you did not tell us the error message!


    You never even told us why you are running the READ & RUN ME! What malware problems were you having? You also never even told us what Windows version you are using.


    I think you should get the point of the above! Basically if you don't give us enough detailed information, we cannot help you. We cannot see what is happening on your end. You have to tell us and you have to be specific!!

    Nevermind all the stuff I just said....Im on a different computer now.

    My comp. is infected w/trojan awax pmnkheb.dll
    Norton cant get rid of it.
    I use Windows XP 2000
    I just want to delete this crap thats it
    HELP ME PLEASE

    This is part of a Vundo and Winlogonhook infection. You still need to complete the instructions in the READ & RUN ME sticky so we can help you. I will clarify what is required below. If you do not follow this procedure and attach the requested logs, we cannot help.


    Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, renaming, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.
    • Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
    • Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.
    • After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:
    Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around.
    • When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too:
      • CounterSpy - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
      • AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy. - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
      • Bitdefender - from step 6
      • Panda Scan - from step 6
      • runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
      • newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
      • HijackThis
    NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!
