NEED Help In Choosing Best Server/ Network Antivirus

I am currently doing some changes and need a proper anti virus for the server/ network. Presently we are using Norton Symantec which is not doing a good job at all, thus, I need something other than that.

The environment is a hospital.
About 30 computers using Windows XP Professional
2 Servers using Windows Server 2003
All PC's are networked.

Looking for something that has good virus protection, real time protection, does not use too much system resources, can manage client computers, automatic updates that doesn't stay forever to download and other great features. A good firewall is also needed but you can also recommend a good one that's separate.

Most of the network admins that I work with use symantec endpoint. I haven't tried it yet but from what I hear it's great. Might be worth checking in to.

Are you looking for a firewall for your clients or your Internet gateway?

What I am looking for is an antivirus/ firewall (can be 2 separate software) that will protect the servers and that I can also use to manage the client computers at the hospital where I work.

I am not a fan of symantec and would prefer to try something else. We are presently using symantec and its not working for us. I have been doing a lot of research which have narrowed down to ESET Smart Security/ Nod32 and Avast. What are your take on those 2? Or any other?

I am currently doing over all of the systems and would love to start fresh with a new antivirus immediately.
