Need help on downloading a streaming video

I dont know if any of you guys can help me, but I am wanting to download (what I think is a flash video) from the following site: http://www.imf.com/link_player.html?video_id=48 the video is embedded in its own player and I am wanting to save it onto my hard disk as an mpeg, avi, mov etc.

Any help would be great, if I have to use software which I have to pay for tell me what it is, i dont mind paying you see.

Hi jiminy-cricket,

Have you tried reading through the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) at that website? I'm not really sure, but I don't think you can download anything; I think you simply have to register to access the various videos/music, etc. on the site.

No what I mean is i want to download the streaming video, like you know you can download .asf streaming video into .mpeg or .wmv using certain programs. there must be a way of downloading a streaming flash file... please help me

thanks for that, whenever i try and save it as an .swf it doesnt play back at all

 

what are you trying to play it with? have you tried putting the c:/...............swf in your IE address bar and hitting enter seeing as flash player is embedded in browsers.

 

i was trying to play it with the player which comes with you program you suggested. i really want to get these videos in .wmv or .mpeg formats etc

the flash file it downloads is like 1 second long and doesnt even play anything (just black, no sound).

there must be a way? is there any other software or ways around it people know?

 

the .swf you d/led is dynamic - like it has a ? with options after it that select an individual file. you would need the source used to select the video that is played in order to get the server location of the video you want

 

so how can i do this?

 

anybody got any other ideas on how to do this? i really want this video
