today when i went on my computer the browser started directing me to random sites so i scanned and found out it was a rootkit virus, i tried booting into safe mode and killing the virus there but malwarebytes bugs up when it reaches to the file where the rootkit is. then i tried system restore but it crashed midway, so im kind of in a pickle now as i can't even go past the loading screen of safe mode and the normal way. any way i can solve this?
    operating system is w7 btw

    Update1
ok for some reason computer started the reformatting process by itself, does it mean that the virus will be gone?

Are you saying that you are reformating and reinstalling Windows?

If the reformat continues, you will be stuck without an install disc.

then should i put in my disk now or cancel the reformat?

You said in a previous post that you didn;t have the disc. Just what is going on?

What i meant was i didn't put the disk in the computer before it reformatted

If you started the reformat, then you will need the disc.

In post 3 you stated you didn't have the disc, yet in post 5 you asked if you should put in the disc. Which is it, do you or don't you have the disc.

In your initial post, you said
Windows does not reformat spontaneously. You have to do a few steps to get it to reformat. What did you do?

If you reformated, and don't have the disc, then there is no OS to check for malware.

If you reformated, have the disc and reinstalled windows, then it is highly unlikely to have any malware.
